Buckeye Jeopardy
Well folks, it’s that time again. Time to dust off the old keyboard and get moving on a blog. I meant to write a pre-season article, but well, that obviously didn’t happen. Hey, I’m a busy girl! Got a new job, still a small business owner, gimme a break! Anyways, I am using a different format for today’s article. Typically, I use the Carrie Bradshaw a la Sex and the City “I couldn’t help but wonder…” format, but I thought it might be fun to try something new. I might still bust out the old format a few times; we’ll see how it goes. But for today, are you ready to play Buckeye Jeopardy??
Alex, I’ll take Weather for $200:
The answer is: “This is the day in which it was so hot, announcers were saying that TBDBITL members were dropping like flies.”
What is….. The Buckeye home
opener. I would like to mention that our own TBDBITL John, my dad, was
not one that dropped like a fly. He may have been dropping it like it’s hot on
the field, making Snoop Dogg proud, but I was
relieved when he called me a few hours after the game to reassure that he did
not cause any Domino-style accidents during Script
Alex, I’ll take Roster for $400:
The answer is: “Tight End Jake Stoneburner scored this many touchdowns, a school record.”
What is….. Three! Nice to see Bauserman and Stoneburner have good chemistry. Speaking of Bauserman, I was pretty impressed with his time on the field. I didn’t have the highest of hopes for him, but he looked pretty good. Braxton Miller, however, is a different story. Let’s just say the jury is still out on him.
Alex, I’ll take NFL for $1600:
The answer is: “Former Ohio State Quarterback Terelle Pryor was picked by the Oakland Raiders during what round of the NFL supplemental draft?
What is….. Who cares? I believed his apology to the fans after the Sugar Bowl. After he declared for the draft, his apologies seemed a little less whole-hearted. Fool me once, Pryor, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I’m not buying that you’re sorry for anything. We’ll all be better off without him. Seriously Raiders, way to waste your pick.
And we’re out of time for today. Thanks for playing, everyone! We’re all winners in the game of college football, as the Bucks looked as good as possible, all things considered. And on a final note, is the Dispatch still running the column with the weekly Horseshoe Haiku? I don’t recall seeing it lately. I have, therefore, taken it upon myself to create the Horseshoe Haiku as a part of the SATC blog. Here is this week’s edition:
