What a great day it was yesterday. Cooler temperatures outside made it an excellent football atmosphere at Gills. Thanks to the 45+ fans that showed their support to watch the Buckeyes. Thanks to Paul Malanga for another good job in coordinating the raffle. Some wonderful prizes were won by some great Buckeye fans.

Special thanks go out to Roger Thomas. Roger, aka "Woody", made a special appearance to watch the game with us. For those of us who've watched the games on TV, he's the one on camera that is a spitting image of the late Head Football Coach that patrolled the OSU sideline from 1951-1978. Hope to see him again at Gills soon.

It wasn't easy at the start, but the Bucks came away with a huge win on the road in a very hostile place for a visitor to play. The Bucks missed a FG on their first possession when the kick by Ryan Pretorius' 44 yard FG attempt hooked left. Neither team scored in the first quarter as both defenses looked stout.

Todd Boeckman's accuracy was very shaky as he was very fortunate that two of his passes weren't intercepted in the first half. OSU was able to get a 28 yard FG early in the second quarter for a 3-0 lead. A false start penalty led to another FG attempt that was blocked by a Washington lineman. Although the snap was low, there was too much penetration by the Huskies to kick the ball. The Huskies took advantage of the block by going down the field and scoring on a 23 yard TD pass with 3 seconds left to give U-Dub a 7-3 halftime lead. It could've been worse had not James Laurinaitis picked off a Jack Locker shovel pass from the OSU 5 yard line that killed the Huskies' chances of opening it wide open and giving the Huskies' fans even more to cheer about. More on Laurnaitis' big day coming up shortly.

The "Sweater Vest" must've said something great because the Bucks came out like gangbusters to start the second half. Washington got the ball first and drove down to the OSU 29 yard line. Kurt Coleman came around from the corner to block the FG attempt. It sparked the team and even JT. Tressel showed some emotion with a couple of hops and even a Tiger Woods fist pump to motivate the Bucks.

The offense took notice and two plays later, Boeckman hooked up with Brian Robiskie for a 68 yard TD reception. On the ensuing kickoff, Devon Torrence forced a fumble that James Scott recovered at the Huskies 25 yard line. Two plays later, "Beanie" Wells scampered around the left side untouched for a 14 yard TD run. Just like that in a span of 98 seconds, the Bucks turned a 7-3 deficit into a 17-7 lead. Laurinaitis nabbed a second INT and Brandon Saine's 37 yard TD run as time expired was enough to leave Seattle with a 33-14 win. For the Bucks, it was the first win in Husky Stadium by any Big 10 team since Lee Corso's 1976 Indiana team won there.

Luckybuck's Helmet Sticker Player of the Game: LB James Laurinaitis: 8 Tackles, 2 INT and 1 sack.

On Tap: The Bucks will be back home in the "Horseshoe" as they open up Big 10 conference play against the Northwestern Wildcats. Kick-off is set for 2:30pm on ESPN. Come out to Gills and show your support for the team and don't forget to bring your crayons as we try to "Tame the Purple Kitties". Have a wonderful week.

GO BUCKS!!!
