The Buckeyes beat the Wildcats Saturday like they had stole something from them. If I were a beat writer for the Columbus Dispatch, the title to my story would've read something like this: "Purple kitties taste sour buckeye milk". In other words, there was a bad after taste in their mouths from the very start.

Thanks to the 35+ who came out to watch the Buckeyes scrimmage yesterday.  Also, a big thank you to John Crossmock for handling the raffle. $88.00 was raised toward the scholarship fund. Hopefully, that number will increase significantly for next week.

Although the Wildcats were no match for OSU, the defense played at a very high tempo. Vernon Gholston is just a man among boys out on the field. His motor doesn't quit out there. His arms are as big as some peoples' legs. He's on pace to have an All-American season for the Bucks. Congrats to VG on his 1st career TD.

Along with VG, Anderson Russell and Eugene Clifford played extremely well. Anderson's hit on C.J.Bacher led to VG's TD and Clifford came in with a good amount of playing time recording six tackles. It was good to see Nick Patterson grab a pick and go 34 yards with it. He's been lost in the shuffle with some other talented DB's.

"Beanie" Wells sprained his ankle on the first series of the 3rd quarter. It doesn't look to be all that bad.

Larry Grant blocked a punt in the 3rd quarter. It was his second blocked kick in as many weeks. Definitely has a knack of getting to the kickers and punters.

These botched extra points are a concern for me. Have to definitely get that fixed in a hurry.

Other than the kickoff return for a TD to start the second half, it was great to see a lot of backups getting substantial playing time on the field.

Luckybuck's Helmet Sticker Player of the Game: The 105,178 fans who packed into the "Horseshoe" to see the 500th game in Ohio Stadium history.

On tap: The Bucks take the show on the road with a trip to Minneapolis as they will take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Kick-off is @ 7:00pm on ESPN2. The theme this week is "Plug the Gophers". Don't forget to bring your Kleenex. If you want, you can bring extra and send them to the Penn State club. They might need them after losing to UM for the 9th straight time. Have a great week.

GO BUCKS!!!
