Oh when the Bucks come marching in, oh when the Bucks come marching in...You get my drift. In what has to be the craziest college football season in history, the Buckeyes are your new # 1 team in the country. The only question remains is, will OSU get all of the first place votes in both the AP and Coaches polls? My guess is probably not, but they will have a firm hold on the top spot of the polls and the initial BCS Standings which come out this Sunday. On 9/29, the Buckeyes were #8. As we wake up on 10/14, they sit as the top of the mountain. 8 Top 10 teams have fallen in the last 3 weeks. Can OSU run through the gauntlet to get to New Orleans? Stay tuned and find out. If for any other reason, this should be interesting to watch. OSU STILL has a chip on their shoulder from that embarrassing game in January.

I wanted to say that I wasn't too happy with the attendance on Saturday. To have only 45 people there for a game that wasn't on local TV disturbed me. Thanks to those of you who came out to have "Breakfast with the Buckeyes". Also, special thanks go to John Crossmock and Paul Malanga for coordinating the raffle. $180 was raised because of your generosity. As Jeff Reeb has stated a time or two, that if we don't fill the place up, we lose our primary seating. I really don't feel like sitting near the restrooms and pool tables like we did in 2003. Now that the Bucks are #1, will that convince you to come out and party with rest of Buckeye Nation? Let’s keep showing Bill Bence that we are the "King of the Big 10" Clubs at Gills. We've earned it and I want to keep it that way. Our Buckeyes have played good and demand your support.

I'll tell you that I'm not a fan of the BTN. We missed the first scoring drive that ended in Brian Hartline's 14 yard TD catch. Don't you just love satellite difficulties? Anyways, the game was pretty boring from the start. B-Hart took a punt in the second quarter that went for a school record 90 yards for his second TD of the day. Later in the quarter, Donald Washington took an INT back 70 yards for a pick six. The Bucks also had two injuries in the quarter: CB Anderson Russell sprained his ankle and looks to be out for at least 1-2 weeks and LB James Laurinaitis suffered a hip pointer when he was kicked in the right hip. Laurinaitis was said to be ok and will practice on Tuesday. Pretty much everyone played for the Bucks. If they were standing up, they were on the field. The only interesting tale of the second half was could the "D" get a shutout. If it wasn't for backup P Jon Thoma's 13 yard punt, they would've had a shutout. Here are the 4 games this season on how they lost a shutout:

Against Akron, a safety against the offense cost Ohio State a shutout. Against Northwestern, it was a 99-yard kickoff return to start the second half. At Purdue, it was a Boilermakers TD with 10 seconds left. Yesterday, it was a 34-yard field goal by Kent State with 2:36 to play.

Luckybuck's Helmet Sticker Player of the Game: Brian Hartline for the school record 90 yard punt return for a TD and TD catch. He's becoming another go to guy for Todd Boeckman.

On tap: The Michigan State Spartans come to town for Homecoming. I don't have to remind you that the last time OSU hosted Sparty as the #1 team in the "Shoe, OSU lost. 11/7/1998 still leaves a hole in my heart. Let's hope the Bucks stay prepared as they have the inside track to go to "Nawlins. Don't forget your pencils as we look to "Sharpen up the Spartans". ABC will telecast the game with a 2:30pm kickoff. Have a great week.

GO BUCKS!!!
