The
2009 OSU football season comes down to three games. If they win out, they go to
Pasadena and
represent the Big Ten in the Rose Bowl. A loss this Saturday will put them
in the Outback Bowl. Beat PSU and lose to Iowa will put OSU in the Capital One Bowl.
The worst case scenario is for them to lose all three and giddy up to San Antonio and play in
the Alamo Bowl.
I have to be honest when I say this, but, do we want to see OSU win out and get
destroyed by Oregon?
The same "Quack Attack" that laid the smack down on Petey and the
Trojans? The answer for me is NO!!!! After watching some highlights of that game
(because it was blacked out on ESPN2), I feel that Chip Kelly has a killer
instinct and that Tressel plays too scared. Kelly learned from the Mike Belotti
school of coaching and he has the Ducks on top of the Pac 10 without any other
obstacles to go through.
613 yards of total offense (including 393 yards on the ground) got my attention
very quick. As talented as Jeremiah Massoli is for Oregon, TP has got the talent to run around
the Trojan Defense at any given time. If we had a coach who had a killer
instinct, the Buckeyes would be undefeated right now in contention for the
National Championship.
The Buckeyes go to Crappy
Valley with revenge on
their mind and a new Kicker for the rest of the regular season. As expected,
Aaron Pettrey will be sidelined with a torn PCL. My best guess it was
retribution on the part of NMSU after Pettrey kicked an onside kick after OSU's
first TD in the second quarter.
The weather should be fantastic for the game with the high in the lower 50's. I
don't see it being a sunny day for OSU as Pryor will be ineffective passing and
causing at least 2 turnovers. The defense will play good but not good enough to
win.
Prediction: PSU 17 OSU 13 (Hope I'm wrong)
GO BUCKS!!!
