AJ
Trapasso, Marcus Freeman and Rory Nicol: What do these men have in common?
They, along with a handful of other 5th year seniors, made history this past
Saturday by winning not only 5 straight games over _ichigan, but earning 5
pairs of Gold Pants in the process. They CAN really make an awesome necklace
out of those gold charms.
Also, a big thanks to the seniors who were there for four years. Names that
will live in Buckeye lore such as the "Little Animal" James
Laurinaitis and Malcolm Jenkins. Although not a senior, this looks to have been
Beanie Wells' last game in the 'shoe. Wells has had some legendary games
against the Maize and Blue with 3 straight games with TD runs of 52 yds+ (52
yds. in 2006, 62 yds. in 2007 and 59 yds. in 2008). His 222 yd performance in
miserable conditions in Ann Arbor IS the stuff of legend and one that will
stick with Wolverine fans forever. Wells will truly be missed.
Boom Herron's 49 yd Td run after Wells' 42 yd run to start the 3rd quarter, was
more than enough to sink the Wolverines. Herron certainly has proven to be a
quality back that is more than capable of replacing Wells as the RB for 2009
and beyond. Although not as big as Beanie, Boom has enough power and speed to
run north and south and become a 1000 yd. rusher for OSU. The Buckeyes have had
4 straight seasons of at least 1000 yds. rushing by Antonio Pittman and Beanie.
Herron will get the most of duplicating both of them in being the featured
back.
So where does OSU go for the bowl game? My guess at the moment is the Capital
One Bowl in
Until my next blog which I will preview the Buckeyes' Bowl opponent, I hope
that everyone has a happy Turkey Day and a Merry Xmas. Be thankful that we have
a Head Coach that understands the rivalry with _ichigan and that's why he is
7-1 against TSUN. The Sweater Vest is truly the right Coach to lead this
football team. Let's savor the beat down from Saturday (42-7). It's been 40
years since OSU put up a lopsided victory over the Wolverines (50-14 in 1968).
GO BUCKS!!!
