Old Business and New Business—Social Events

Carolyn Able showed us some black carry bags with the logo on it. They would cost $20. We could use them in various ways.

It was suggested we have more than one level of membership and could give added incentives to higher levels.

It was approved to purchase three cases of wine glasses offered by TOSUAA to give to those who join for 2011.

Jeff Reeb announced that Dan McGuinness has agreed to discounts for our members. 10% on food all year long and beverage specials during game watch parties. Good at Spottswood location only. We'll create membership cards which staff will check to give discounts. This benefit includes Michigan and Penn State also.

It was suggested we charge non-members for game watch parties. Not likely to be approved by DM and would hurt our attendance figures.

It was suggested we display our accomplishments at game watch parties.

We should set up a "membership table" at game watches and set up a drop box for membership forms and dues. Approved.

As a way to increase paid membership we should look into a small group life insurance policy and the cost of such a plan.

Outreach - Should we ask members to donate cash or school supply items? Both are accepted but it was decided that supply items should be the main focus. Services (such as tutoring) could also be donated.

Redbirds game in August: Monday night, tickets only, no buffet.

Jeff Reeb will talk to the management about the smoking/no smoking issue to clarify.

Contact the national organization to see if there is a national agreement with Bank of America concerning monthly service fees on accounts.

Membership

Start a membership data base. This has been discussed before. Have members list what they are good at and can do for other club members.

Hand out flyers at game watches with the names of members businesses. Canvas small businesses even without OSU ties as a cheap way to advertise.

Consider placing businesses' logos and advertisements on the website.

Talk to our Grizzlies representative about getting Mike Conley, Jr. involved with our Club.
